Board Chair
Lisa Brown
Lisa Brown is a responsible community member who is engaged with varying nonprofit community resources, South Mountain Community Church, Memory Matters Utah, and Southwest Forensic Nursing & Healthcare.
She is passionate in the areas she serves, dementia, and spiritual leadership, and Board Member of Southwest Forensic Nursing & Healthcare. Her family both personal and church, are the most important things in her life and the area of her joy.
Lisa has a background in customer service, volunteering in the community, and fundraising which are the foundations she has as a community member.​​​​

Board Co-Chair
Dixie Hirschi
Dixie Hirschi is community-focused and advocates for those whose voice is not always heard. She has worked for The Dibble Institute since 2011 and has served as the Director of Outreach and more recently as the Senior Training Advisor and Training Specialist. She is an experienced educator of 25 years in History, Literature, and Classical Studies.
Dixie is trained and certified in numerous healthy relationship programs, trauma resilient programs and she worked with vulnerable teens in WI and UT. She was a CASA volunteer in WI, advocating for neglected or abused children. Her passions include public speaking, training, and helping others to build resilience for healthy and happy lives. ​​​​​​​​

Jen Werner
Jen Werner is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach with nearly a decade of experience in leadership development, mentoring, and community engagement. She is passionate about helping individuals harness their strengths and use their voices to lead with authenticity and purpose.
Jen’s work centers on equity, resilience, and empowerment—especially for those whose voices have been historically marginalized.
Through values-driven coaching, youth development, and advocacy, she creates spaces where people feel seen, heard, and equipped to thrive.

Board Fundraiser
Wendy Jessen
Wendy Jessen has worked in advocacy for many years including professionally as a law enforcement victim advocate and as the director of the Iron County Children's Justice Center. She has a master's in professional communication and a bachelor's in criminal justice.
Wendy is an adjunct lecturer of communication at Southern Utah University, an author of a book on recovering from sexual abuse, and has served on several committees for writing conferences.
She was recently named the 2024 Woman of the Year at the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce gala. Wendy and her husband Dan are the parents of six children and live in Cedar City.

Law Enforcement Advisor
Krystal Powell
Krystal is a graduate of The Utah Tech Police Academy and currently serves in the Utah Tech Police Department as an investigator. Prior to working as an officer at Utah Tech, she worked at The Dove Center as a victim advocate. Investigator Powell’s experience includes sexual assault advocacy and domestic violence advocacy. Investigator Powell has completed multiple trainings for sexual assault counseling and victim advocacy, while participating in The Dove Center Hospital Advocacy Response Team to provide support to sexual assault victims. She is passionate about serving the community through her work as an officer and as a member of the advisory board at SWFN&H.

Legal Advisor
Thad Seegmiller
Thad is a full-time practicing attorney in Southern Utah and Nevada. He enjoys talking about gardening, farming, ranching and fishing as much as legal matters. Thad dreams about hiking, fishing, traveling and Lake Powell when legal problems get hard and cows get stubborn.
